Strategy Statement 2024-2026 - Key Objective 1 - Enforcement of agri-food unfair trading law.

Objective & Priority for 2026: Ongoing and effective enforcement of agri-food unfair trading law.

  • Manage and analyse submissions of Annual Compliance Reports from relevant buyers
  • Conduct compliance inspections
  • Process complaints
  • Support compliance by buyers and promote good practice
  • Active engagement nationally and internationally with Enforcement Authorities and public bodies as appropriate

Strategy Statement 2024-2026 - Key Objective 2 - Improved transparency on the functioning of the agri-food supply chain.

Objective & Priority for 2026: Consider further transparency needs by primary production sector in conjunction with key businesses and other stakeholders to inform effective data collection and analysis.

  • Preparation for implementation of S.I. No. 629/2025 - Agri-Food (Price and Marketing Information) Regulations 2025
  • Analysis of price and market data and information available publicly on the agri-food supply chain
  • Enhance the reporting capabilities of the Regulator

Strategy Statement 2024-2026 - Key Objective 3 - Effective communication and engagement with stakeholders in promoting fairness and transparency.

Objective & Priority for 2026: Improve awareness and understanding of the Regulator’s role.

  • Continue to undertake radio, print, digital and other campaigns to raise awareness and understanding of the Agri-Food Regulator’s role
  • Development of new website
  • Active engagement with stakeholders, including policy makers
  • Publication of guidelines for buyers to protect the interests of suppliers where considered appropriate
  • Development of the second Strategy Statement for the period 2027-2029

Strategy Statement 2024-2026 - Key Objective 4 - Building of organisational capacity with optimal use of resources to deliver an efficient and effective service.

Objective & Priority for 2026: Further build capacity of the organisation with a strong governance and administrative foundation.
